Sam Bernard on National Staff of Civil Air Patrol

Brig. General Amy Courter announced that Lt. Col Sam Bernard will be co-team leader for the CISM program for Civil Air Patrol.  Sam has most recently served as Southeast Region Clinical Director for Civil Air Patrol's CISM program.

Bernard is an FAA licensed pilot and has responded to several aviation events over his career.  He is a consultant to Response Works, a New York based firm servicing British Airways.

Sam is a survivor of an aviation incident in Karatchi Pakistan in 1981 while serving as a People-To-People Student Ambassador.

Chattanooga Based "School Crisis Support Cooperative" launched

During a recent training in School Crisis Response, a number of local participants decided to create a local "School Crisis Support Cooperative" to provide crisis mental health support to any local school, college, university that was experiencing a crisis with mental health components.

Southeast TSPN hosts pilot project addressing psychological support and crisis intervention for friends and family members left after a suicide completion.  Suicide Postvention Response Team will utilize the ICISF model of peer support along with mental health professional back-up to respond to residence, businesses, school (K-12 plus college & universities).  Anyone interested in volunteering for this response team will be required to complete three courses in crisis intervention:  Helping Individuals, Group Crisis Intervention, and Suicide.   Each class is 2 days (14 hours).  Anyone interested should contact Sam Bernard

At I-24 and I-75 interchange, proceed on I-24 toward Downtown Chattanooga.

Take the FIRST exit "Moore Road", at the end of the exit ramp, turn RIGHT onto Moore Road.
